Barbara Arens (*1960) is a passionately dedicated piano teacher. She began her studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg at the age of 13, her favourite professor being Nikolaus Harnoncourt. After a concert career performing primarily as a harpsichordist and organist, Barbara Arens returned to the piano with renewed enthusiasm.
Now she enjoys putting her diverse abilities and experience into composing for her piano pupils - her aim is to write pieces as playable, yet as expressive as possible.
Five scores of hers have been published by Breitkopf & Härtel and by Elena Cobb. Her sixth music score to be published, titled Rendezvouz with Midnight will be published by Editions Musica Ferrum and includes poetry writen by herself and other famous poets of the past.
Mrs. Arens presently lives near Würzburg, Germany, after living in Beirut, Dallas, San Francisco, Singapore, Salzburg, London, and Munich.
